Since today just so happens to be September 1st I decided to combine my weekly recap with some goals for the month of September. I haven’t posted monthly goals before, but I think this month in particular I am going to really need the focus and accountability.
I’m a bit disappointed in how this week shaped up, but thankfully it was a recovery week so I am blaming it on that and moving on.
Monday: Suspension training
Tuesday: 4 mile tempo run. Again I do not like tempo runs. I honestly pretty much have one speed so if you were to look at my tempo run vs. a long run there is only about 30 sec/mile difference, maybe a minute, but usually closer to :30.
Wednesday: I did very light arm and core exercise with a weighted ball.
Thursday: I was suppose to do a 5 mile run but I ended up skipping it. I was suppose to go to an interview in the morning so I planned to run at night, but none of that happened.
Friday: Rest, yes again.
Saturday: Was suppose to be a 5 mile long run, but I took Pixie and there were some issues with that so I ended up only doing 3.75
Sunday: Candlelight yoga. My favorite way to end the week, since I believe a new week starts on Monday.
As for my September goals, on the top of the list to get my nutrition under control. I have been horrible about having an iced coffee for breakfast and snacking through lunch. Many days my only real meal is dinner, sometimes even that is iffy. Honestly I am just being moody and lazy. When I was doing Whole 30 I had my meals planned out and just followed the plan, even if I didn’t feel like having it that day I still made it and ate. I think I need to go back to that.
Number 2 on the list is to exercise 5 days a week. This includes not missing a run, so really 3 days of running and 2 days of something else. I’m thinking I’ll random DVDs from my collection for awhile and try to get a full body workout on those days.
Last but not least I want to take time to Meditate each day. I am not a good meditator, but I need to declutter my mind regularly or I get stressed out so I am going to make that a priority.
What do you do to relax and or unwind?
Taking time to meditate each day sounds like something I need to do! Usually when I do my stretches it's a combination of yoga/ stretching so I could throw some meditation in there :)
ReplyDeleteTo unwind I either: nap, hot shower/bath, manicure, iced coffee and a magazine...depends on the day!

Those all sound great, but most I would have to work it in after the kids went to bed. Which could be a great part of a bedtime routine.
DeleteI need to get back into meditation. I was supposed to go to a group class with a friend, but I've been swamped at work. That's something you really shouldn't skimp on, but sometimes it's hard to make time for it.
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! Candlelight Yoga sounds amazing - a great way to unwind and refocus for a new week ahead!
